If you're looking for a destination that combines culture, nature and a touch of adventure, Neiva is the perfect place. The capital of Huila, surrounded by stunning landscapes and rich in traditions, offers a wide range of activities. From exploring picturesque rural districts to tasting the region's typical dishes, trying an extreme sport or enjoying a relaxing horseback ride, Neiva has something for everyone.

Here are some tips to make the most of your visit, with a special focus on the countryside, the delicious local food and the adventure activities you shouldn't miss.

Explore Neiva's Countryside: Nature and Local Culture

Just 30 minutes from the city, the El Triunfo rural district welcomes you with dirt roads, crystal-clear streams and mountains covered in vegetation. Walking the countryside is the best way to understand rural life in Huila: the pace is different, people greet you along the way and every trail has a story.

At Caminos del César we invite you to explore this land on foot, on horseback or by following a streambed, always with people who know the area.

Taste the Local Food

Mountain cooking is part of the trip. Our visitors often highlight the sancocho stew cooked over a wood fire and the chance to see how panela (unrefined cane sugar), one of the region's most traditional products, is made.

At the Mirador del César you'll find drinks, traditional mountain cooking, set meals, fast food and snacks to refuel before or after your trail.
